Direct answer: Manon’s relationships make more sense when clan, coven and military command are kept separate. Heir of Fire introduces her as the Blackbeak heir, while the Thirteen are her close unit and Empire of Storms places her under wider wartime demands. A clan relationship is not identical to a Wing Leader’s office. Nor does obedience to an order automatically reveal whether she privately agrees with it.
Blackbeak names a lineage and a clan relationship
The HoF introduction explicitly identifies Manon as the Blackbeak heir and connects her work to her grandmother’s expectations. That is the family-and-clan line in the map. Her red cloak also has a particular history in the introduction, so its visual appearance should not be used to assume a simple, unchanging allegiance. Clothing, descent and current loyalty can tell different stories.
The Thirteen are not interchangeable with the whole witch force
The EOS opening distinguishes Manon’s close group from the broader command structure. It also sets her against pressure from the Matron and Erawan. That gives a richer answer than assigning her a permanent good-or-evil badge.
